ISL Applications GmbH is the commercial part of the internationally recognized Institute for Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL). For more than 20 years, ISL has been specializing in optimization and simulation. Their systems have been utilized worldwide for optimizing container terminals, harbor planning and analyzing transportation networks. Today ISL handles projects from all over the world in interdisciplinary teams. Whether logistics systems, maritime economics and transport or information logistics are concerned, ISL provides innovative ideas and solutions with practical applicability on behalf of their project partners from the public and private sector.
ISL Applications brings prototypes of simulation and emulation systems developed by ISL to a product state. It markets and customizes these software products and offers training, consultancy services and maintenance of these products to the clients.
ISL's flagship, the CHESSCON family for container terminals, consists of terminal 3D visualization, planning terminal's capacity, planning and optimization of terminal's layout and processes and testing and optimization of Terminal Operating Systems (TOS). It provides also tools to support the planning and optimizing of crane operation port call strategies, channel and port traffic and intermodal yard operation.
DSP has recently agreed a partnership with the ISL Applications GmbH company to distribute the CHESSCON software and provide consultancy jointly with ISL Applications.
DSP is also tightly linked with the University of Applied Science of Southern Switzerland. This gives the chance to DSP to participate to research projects on the transport and IT area and to remain always skilled with the newest technology.
